Did you
know?
All
Merkur razors in gold are gold plated in a galvanic bath (not just
gold colored).
Gold plating
is done over a nickel layer and we are talking about 18 carat, hard-gold
plating (technical term for a method where other components like cobalt,
silver and copper come with the gold) to give not only the warm shine but
also being hard enough not to come off. 18 carat means 75% pure gold and 25%
additive of other metals or chemicals.
Q. Will regular department store double edged
razor blades fit my Merkur. Yes, all except the moustache razor
which takes the smaller, special blade. The Merkur brand blades are known
for their outstanding quality and performance.
Q. Will any of your stands
hold my Merkur?
On the
stands
page the brush and razor holder
#mno-brh
will hold a razor at the handle's base as long as the diameter at the base is
1/2 inch or less - which is most of the regular fixed model razors. The "T" style brush and razor stands
#mnd-stc, #mnd-stg
and #mns-hldcr will hold the regular razors by the area under the shaving head.
The Vision and Futur razors work best with the head hanging down as
shown below due to the heavier head. The long handle razor will also work with the #mntb-st.
And, all the double edge razors, except Vision, will work with

Vision |
Brush and razor
"T" style stand for the Futur or Vision. This specific nickel or brass (not
pictured) finish "T" style brush and razor stand has a 12 mm razor fork
for holding a Merkur Futur, Vision and Progress. The brush opening is 1"
(25 mm) wide. The stand is almost 4 1/2" tall from the top of the base to
the top of the forked brush/razor holder. Picture shows the best way to hold
these heavy-headed models. Has weighted base. (Razor/s not included.) Also

Razor holder for Merkur adjustable razors.
Use this stand for the Progress, Futur or Vision model razors. It is
especially hard to find just a razor stand for the larger Futur and Vision,
and this stand works very well. While it will support other double edge
razors, the flat under-head model razors work best because the models that
have protrusions on the under-head will not sit uniformly in the center of
