d Because this is a natural organic material there are several things you need to be aware of before you purchase horn products:

A)  An item will be similar to the colors shown, however will not always be exact because each piece is different and no two are identical. Various color patterns and gradations are a normal part of horn and is to be expected. For example, different sides of the same product can be very different in color or pattern.
B)  Horn needs extra care by making sure you thoroughly dry the item after use. In addition, horn enjoys natural oils occasionally to keep it supple and in good repair. When horn dries out of natural oils it can become brittle, thereby making for a shorter useful life.
C)  Horn can crack as it ages which is a natural process for up to five years - more or less. We work with manufacturers who inspect and grade horn for integrity upon manufacture, however potential cracks can happen and are normal with this organic material.
D)  Horn is a bi-product. The creation of functional use items is a good way to put this valuable material to beneficial use instead of letting it go to waste.
